About the poem: A short poem about eternal love. Love is a constant in the world, unlike peoples lives.

by: Anonymous 9th Grade TA Poet

A strong adoration beating like a heart under earthen soil.

Coil your roots into me and grow off my corpse.

Even as my body decays,

Your body, fresh and kind; arms extended to the world in a eternal embrace.

The two of us sing the macabre as I bring down your mood,

But you howl at the moon for me to rise.

Hold me in your arms as your life reaches end,

Join me in my forever prison, a kingdom below the forest floor.

Thank the heavens our death is that of a French play.
